New This Year A Month of Magic at the National Christmas Tree

Visit the National Christmas Tree and 56 state and territory trees for a nightly dazzling holiday light and music performance December 7 to January 1.

America's Tree Shines in a Whole New Way

Each evening, this season, the National Christmas Tree comes alive with a new light and music show. Join us after dark on the Ellipse for a magical evening in the heart of the nation’s capital to hear the popular sounds of the season accompanied by a dazzling programmed lightshow set to music. Every 30 minutes the National Christmas Tree will serve as the center of the performance, with 56 state trees performing as the chorus. Stroll the grounds by day or night to see the state trees decorated with ornaments created by students across the country. The display is open to the public and free for all visitors.

This year’s tree was donated by the National Forest Service and comes from Washington and Jefferson National Forest in Virginia.
