Alabama

Montgomery Christian School

“4th and 5th-grade students at Montgomery Christian School designed the ornaments below. They began by looking at pictures of Alabama symbols, landmarks, culture, and landforms. The students had an opportunity to share what they think makes Alabama beautiful and brainstorm what they pictured for their ornaments. They were provided with various art media and allowed to choose the medium they wanted to use.” – Stephanie P., Teacher

Paris

I drew Alabama’s state flower, the Camellia, because this flower is known for its pretty color and its sweet smell. Camellias grow all around Alabama’s parks, gardens, and even roadsides. I drew it on a stained glass background to represent the many churches Alabama has that are filled with beautiful stained glass windows.
