“We began by discussing things that make Georgia beautiful. Students were then encouraged to research things unique to Georgia. They learned about special locations, our state symbols, and famous Georgians. They sketched their ideas, created their designs on the ornament template, and wrote about what inspired them. I can not say in words what I loved in this experience. But I can say what inspired me. I live on a farm with beautiful flowers. I love being able to draw them. As I drew the flowers I imagined a peach growing in them so I drew a peach. And I loved going to the beach so I drew Tybee in the background. This was one of the best experiences in my life.
