“Our 3rd graders took part in this project as a culmination of their Michigan study in Social Studies. They wanted to showcase the state symbols and display some of their favorite things they had learned about during the year. Our four classroom teachers helped students brainstorm ideas and provided plenty of materials for them to be creative. I got inspired for my picture by a cold winter night in Michigan. When the lake is cold and the snow drops from the sky. It nestles in the great white pine trees. The animals hibernate while the northern lights dance in the night sky.
