When they were asked to design their ornaments to the theme, “What makes our state Beautiful”, they were prepared to create designs visually describing North Carolina’s unbelievable landscapes and incredible state symbols as a way to show others how beautiful North Carolina truly is.” -Tara K., Teacher

I created an ornament with baby sea turtles crawling in the water because I love the ocean and sea animals, especially sea turtles. I think the most beautiful thing about North Carolina is the sunsets, so that is why I put a sunset in the background of the baby turtles crawling to the sea. I thought it would be fun to draw two things mixed together that I love to make the perfect art to represent the beauty of North Carolina.
