“We are truly honored to have been selected to design the ornaments representing Texas in the America Celebrates Ornaments Display. Our students had an incredible experience learning about the beauty and uniqueness of our great state. They carefully researched Texas state symbols, selected the ones that resonated with them most, and dedicated several hours to designing, creating, and coloring their festive masterpieces. We’re so proud of their hard work and creativity!” – Liliana R., Alma R., and Virginia P., Teachers

I decided to draw the Texas Longhorn on my ornament because it is a strong and famous animal in Texas. I like its big horns and how it stands for Texas pride. I drew the Longhorn with long, curved horns and colored it brown and I added clouds and grass. I was inspired by seeing Longhorns on ranches and in pictures. I used colored pencils to make my art. Making this ornament helped me learn more about Texas and show something special about our state. It was fun to create!
