“The 6th-grade class brainstormed many ideas regarding the theme, “What makes your state beautiful?” We wanted to capture the essence of Vermont, the things that residents, natives, and visitors find attractive and characteristic of our state. We combined all the students’ ideas into themes, then the students chose a theme, sketched their ideas, and painted the compositions with acrylics.” – Amy Beth K., Teacher

I chose winter sports as the theme of my ornament because I was born in winter. There are a lot of things to do in the winter in Vermont that are fun. Many people enjoy skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowmobiling, and other winter activities and sports. Snow is a beautiful part of nature in Vermont and it is important for our economy as well. I had fun doing this project with my class.
